On Saturday night, we saw the first rematch of the season as the Edwards Freedom returned to Ft. Collins, looking to avenge their season opening loss to the Fury. Edwards looked like they may do just that in the first half, as they took a 3-2 lead into the break. But just as they did in the first matchup, the Fury put away what was a close game at the half, with a dominating second half performance - this time outscoring the Freedom 5-0 in the second half, to win 7-3.
The Freedom fall to 0-3 and will have some catching up to do if they want a shot at the Division title game. The Blizzard (1-0) and the Fury (3-1) look to be the top contenders at the moment, with the 1-1 Dynamite hanging back in 3rd. The Dynamite showed potential in their first match, but some inconsistency in their second.
Going into the holiday break, the standings look like this:
|Rocky Mountain Division||GP||W||L||T||Pts|
|Ft. Collins Fury||4||3||1||0||9||The Fury close out their home stand with 3 of 4 wins, now they face 4 straight road matches in their quest for the Division....|
|Colorado Blizzard||1||1||0||0||3||The Blizzard look like the team to beat after an impressive 10-2 victory in Ft. Collins.|
|Denver Dynamite||2||1||1||0||3||After splitting two road games the Dynamite await the Blizzard on Jan. 6th...|
|Edwards Freedom||3||0||3||0||0||Still a quality squad, but there are no weeks off in this division!|
On Saturday January 7th, the Ft. Collins Fury will travel down to Monument to face a Colorado Blizzard squad that dominated them 10-2 up in Ft. Collins, for the Fury's only loss of the season. This could turn out to be a very pivotal match for the Division title race.
