Fury No Match for the Boys from the South

A Strong Blizzard blew in from the south up through Fort Collins, Co. on Saturday night as the defending Rocky Mountain Champions opened up their account on the new season with a 10-2 win over the Fury.

Coach Wells, "A strong performance was put in by the team as a whole. Eric Goldberg with his first 4 goal game made a strong statement and solidified my moving him from the back into the midfield this season; he is easily the MVP for the game. We look forward to some good hard training over the holiday break and look to correct some things we could do better as we anticipate a very busy season after the break."

The Blizzard jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1st qtr and added 2 more before the end of the first half to take a 5-0 lead into the break. The Fury got one back in the 3rd, but the Blizzard continued their solid play and countered with 2 more themselves. Despite a towering 7-1 lead for the Blizzard at the start of the 4th quarter, the Fury found their legs to garner a 2nd goal early on. But the Blizzard were relentless in their attack and added 3 more before the final whistle blew to end the game with 10 goals.

Coach Wells, “On behalf of the Colorado Blizzard Players, Staff and all of our Families, We would like to wish everyone a very safe and Happy Holiday Season and we hope to see all of you at our games in the New Year.”
